OEM Style Reproduction Springer Forks
Fits:
36-E46 UL, EL
Exact replica springer forks, made from drop forged steel, for early models from stock to +20" o.s. Springers for the 36-E46 UL Flathead and EL Knucklehead. Can also be retro-fitted to modern Softail models or used in a mild to wild custom project. Forks are available as inline and 3° positive (wheel further forward) or negative (wheel further to rear) offset. Inline forks have the neck stem and the forklegs in-line with each other. Negative offset forks have the forklegs set backwards to create more trail for early models with less rake in the frame neck, or for bikes equipped with sidecars, to improve stability. All forks are made in Europe.
Note 1: Never ride a bike fitted with Springer forks without a good damping system. When retro-fitted to high speed capable motorcycle models it is strongly advised to install a modern damping system to prevent potentially life threathening riding situations.
Note 2: Negative offset Springer forks must use 900094 ball bearing set for the frame neck.
Note 3: Standard 36-E46 UL/EL Springer length is 19" (48cm). This length is measured from the bottom fork stem bearing to the center of the wheel axle. Given lengths are approximately.
Note 4: 8, 12, 16 and 20" overstock springers come with a 3° positive offset and require the use of a special centerpart (981460 chrome or 981461 black) to mount risers for late style handlebars.
